Demà el president del govern espanyol, Rodríguez Zapatero, serà al Parlament per fer una valoració final de la seva presidència semestral. Tot just ara estic acabant d'ultmar la meva intervenció per al ple durant el debat de demà al matí. Ta´nmateix, la setmana passada ja várem tenir ocasió de saber alguns detalls del què ha de ser la seva substituta, la belga, durant una reunió que vàrem tenir el Bureau del Grup Verds/ALE i el Primer Ministre belga acompanyat dels seus principals Ministres. Les expectatives per aquests propers sis mesos les resumim, en tant que grup, en la següent valoració:
"We expect from the Belgians, who are traditionally committed to the European idea, that their presidency becomes a catalyst for the common European interest, which is more than just the sum of national interests. After the increasingly strong trend towards re-nationalisation, which came to light particularly during the euro crisis, Europeans must again revive their common project. We hope that in doing this the Belgians will succeed in giving a new reason for the existence of a rotating EU presidency.
