La nominació d'Aminetu Haidar per el Premi Sakharov ja ha provocat, tal i com prevèiem, la reacció dels sectors més reaccionaris del Marroc.

Els diputats Neusser, Meyer i Romeva, els qui hem impulsat la candidatura de l'Aminetu, acabem de rebre un missatge (l'adjunto més avall) d'un representant de la Unionist Western Saharawi lamentant la nostra opció i difamant fins a tal punt el treball de l'Aminetu que només se m'ha acudit una manera de respondre'l: 'Gràcies. La teva carta ens ratifica més que cap altra cosa en l'encert de la nostra proposta'.

Aquest correu, i la campanya que em consta que han activat per impedir que l'Aminetu passi a la fase finalista del premi, posa de manifest precisament com n'és d'important alçar la veu per tal de reclamar un gir radical de l'actitud europea en relació al Sàhara Occidental i que, d'una vegada per totes, s'afronti la necessita de celebrar el referèndum d'autodeterminació i s'acabi amb aquesta anomalia que suposa l'ocupació del Sàhara per part del Marroc.

Dear Sirs,

I hope you are well

First of all, I'd like to thank you for your concern on the Western Sahara region affairs. I am sending to you this message to share with you some of my thoughts on the choice of Aminatou Haidar for the Sakharov prize 2010. 

The nomination of Aminatou Haidar is a big offense to the efforts of the unionist western saharawis to make the return of the people living in Tindouf camps south Algeriapossible and realistic. This lady is the voice of Algeriain the Western Sahararegion. She has never been the voice of any unionist saharawi. During her supposedly hunger strike in Lanzarote (Spain), nobody in the Western Sahararegion supported her comedy. There were no sympathy manifestation in the street. Besides, she has never got a genious idea about human rights in the Western Sahararegion. She has never make activism to educate young people about human rights or make seminars locally to explain the signification of human rights principals. Her sole speech is to defend "politcally" the self-determination of the saharawis to make pressure on the moroccan government for the account of Algeria. Moroccois defending the self-determination of the saharawis more than anybody else by proposing the autonomy intiative stated by the Security Council as credible and serious. Aminatou Haidar is lying or at least exaggerating matter of facts each time she relates separatism strikes in the Western Sahararegion. I can be the voice of the unionist western saharawi to say that Aminatou Haidar' choice is a big trickery to the spirit of Sakharov Prize.

FYI, Aminatou Haidar hasn't make any support for the account of M. Mustapha Salma Ould Sidi Mouloud, the Polisario Front leader who expressed publically his support to autonomy. He is actually on jail in Polisario Front camps under torture and pressure. If Aminatou Haidar were a serious human rights activist, she would have supported the release of M. Ould Sidi Mouloud. She didn't and she won't do it for the political reasons I mentionned above.

We, the unionist western saharawis feel very sad about the acceptance of such proposal. There are many other western saharawis who are doing a great job in the field of human rights in the Western Sahararegion far from any political consideration.
